Maavahi accommodates up to 12 guests, with three spacious decks and six air-conditioned cabins with ensuite bathrooms. The shaded top level deck, offering panoramic views, is the perfect spot for a morning surf check or afternoon beers as the sun sets. On board Maavahi, you’ll be treated to a level of service and expertise that is truly unmatched, with a highly trained team of surf guides, chefs and crew.
Maavahi has two sundecks to soak up the Maldivian sun, an indoor games room as well as a 16ft support dinghy to transport you to the waves or to embark on adventures to nearby tropical islands. With plenty of space to relax and kick back, Maavahi caters for both surfers and non-surfers alike.
Accommodation
On board Maavahi Charters, guests can enjoy comfortable and well-appointed accommodation, designed to provide a relaxing retreat after long days in the surf. The boat features six spacious guest cabins, all located on the lower deck, ensuring a stable and peaceful sleep. Each cabin is fitted with twin bunk beds, with one bed positioned above and the other below, maximising space while offering a cozy yet functional layout.
Every cabin comes equipped with air conditioning to keep guests cool in the tropical climate, as well as an ensuite bathroom complete with a hot and cold shower, allowing for a refreshing rinse after a surf session. For those who prefer natural airflow, a wall-mounted fan provides an alternative to air conditioning. A small wardrobe offers storage space for personal belongings, keeping the cabin organised and clutter-free.
To ensure the highest level of comfort, the Maavahi crew services the cabins twice daily, maintaining cleanliness and tidiness throughout the trip.

Outer Atolls Surfing
The Huvadhoo and Addu Atolls, referred to as the Outer Atolls, are located in the most southern area of the Maldives. This remote, south-facing coastline is hit with clean southerly swells all year round. While wave size is generally smaller than the more northerly atolls, here you’ll have an opportunity to stumble upon true uncrowded perfection.
The best known waves in the Outer Atolls are Beacons, Blue Bowls, Castaways and Tiger Stripes. Beacons and Tiger Stripes are well-known as two of the most fun and consistent waves in the Maldives.
For minimal crowds and consistent swell, early season (Febuary through to April) or July and August is the best period to book a surf charter in the Outer Atolls.
Beacons (Barracuda Point)
Beacons is one of the most powerful and hollowest waves in the Maldives. This south-facing right-hander picks up plenty of swell, with an easy take-off and long down-the-line inside section.
Kaadedhdhoo
A right-hander off the island of Kaadedhdhoo, on which the airport is located. This wave is super fun in bigger conditions, but generally doesn’t receive as much swell as other breaks in the area.
Dhigulaabadhoo
Just across from Beacons, this left-hander off Dhigulaabadhoo Island can be a little fat, but given the right swell direction it can be fast and powerful. There is a lot of marine life in this area, keep an eye out for the local whale sharks.
Blue Bowls
This is a fun, long right-hander that works best at between 4 to 6 ft. It performs best on mid-tide and is protected in south/south-west winds.
Castaways
A right-hander over shallow reef that can only be surfed on high tide. In bigger swells, over 4ft, it breaks out the back and links up through to the inside.
Ghani Point (Five Islands)
Gani Point is a right-hander that can be very hollow on mid-tide. It’s protected in south/south-west winds and offers up long, clean rides.
Booga Reef (Two Ways)
A peak off a bombie in the middle of a channel, Booga reef is hollow, but fun. The right is more consistent, but needs a west/north-west wind for protection.
Love Charms
A fun wave, Love Charms can be surfed on all tides and breaks between 2 to 10 ft. Surfers can expect nice tubes on the inside of this Maldivian right-hander.
Tiger Stripes (Rockets)
Tiger Stripes, also known as Rockets, is a long left-hander with long rideable walls. This wave is easy to ride and is suitable for all levels. This wave picks up plenty of swell and can be surfed on all tides and is best in west/north winds.
Surf Guiding & Photography
On a surf charter it is essential to have an experienced surf guide with a solid knowledge base of local swells, tides and winds, who may even introduce you to a few secret spots! On board Maavahi, you’ll get to know the most experienced surf guides you will ever meet, many of whom grew up surfing the local islands and reef breaks of the Outer Atolls.
Maavahi’s surf guides are constantly checking surf conditions, collaborating with other skippers and surf guides in the area to find fun and uncrowded waves for guests, ensuring all levels and preferences are catered for. Upon request, World Surfaris can arrange for a surf photographer to join your charter at an additional cost.
Food & Drinks
After surfing or exploring the Outer Atolls all day, you’ll be ready for a delicious feast cooked by your own private chef.
On board Maavahi Surf Charters, the professional chef prepares three delicious meals a day, combining traditional Maldivian and international cuisines. As a guest on board Maavahi you can enjoy your meals in the spacious dining room, or take in 360-degree views on one of the two upper decks. Snacks, tea and coffee are also available throughout the day and night.
The Maavahi crew are committed to the environment and sustainable surfing, and Maavahi produces its own fresh filtered water on board daily. Each guest is allocated up to 250 litres of fresh water per day.

Fishing
The Maldives are well-known for its abundant marine life and fishing is top of the list for many of our guests on board Maavahi. Guests can troll for tuna, mackerel, barracuda and may even be lucky enough to reel in a sail-fish! Maavahi is equipped with fishing equipment, however it is preffered that guests bring their own rods and gear.
Snorkelling
Grab a snorkel, goggles and fins and explore the beauty of the Outer Atolls from the boat. With crystal clear water and an abundance of fish and coral species, the Maldives is rated as one of the top ten dive sites in the world.
